One of the finest moments of the KW Jazz Room was it’s first concert – and this evening Larry’s Jazz Guys return to the jazz room.
Larry Larson is well known as a superb trumpet and flugelhorn player, one of K-W’s own. From his origins in jazz trumpet through a celebrated career with the K-W Symphony, he brings tone and control that is singular on the jazz scene. Witness last year’s Miles Davis tribute, which captured unparalleled moments at the Jazz Room.
He kicks off this season with what promises to be one of this year’s great sets of jazz performance. His melodic lines and sense of improvisation make him one of the region’s best kept jazz secrets!!!
Joining Larry for this gig is are long-time jazz guys Dave Campion on drums and Paul Shilton on piano. New to this iteration, and Jazz Room favourites, are Dave Wiffen on tenor saxophone, and Matthew Lima on bass. Don’t miss this extraordinary line-up of amazing jazz players from right here in Waterloo Region.
