Now what do Ella Fitzgerald and The Temptations have in common? Steve McDade, the Canadian jazz trumpeter!
The JUNO and Grammy awards started piling up with Manteca and the Boss Brass. In over three decades of music, Steve has played with the likes of Ray Charles, Diana Krall, The Manhattan Transfer, and Aretha Franklin, and has been recorded on more than 100 albums.
His music is vital, driving melody that changes the game in a way that you’re not going to forget. The quintet will pay tribute to great trumpet players with compositions by Clifford Brown, Kenny Dorham, Freddie Hubbard, & Tom Harrell, as well as some originals.

Brian’s versatility has led to many roles including backup for diverse artists such as Herbie Hancock, Aretha Franklin, Paul Anka, Dave Brubeck and Diana Krall. The captivating music of his quintet speaks for itself in the excerpt of “Mona’s Mood” from Brian’s website.
