This newly-formed group of extraordinary talent is one you are not going to want to miss. Individually, they bring a sense of spirit and intensity to their various endeavours. Collectively they will no-doubt set a new path for this ensemble format, and you would be crazy to miss one of the maiden-voyage outings with these players.
Based in Toronto, The Jazz Collective serves up their own unique jazz compositions penned from each member with elements of high energy jazz and contemporary harmonies. These original compositions range from soulful ballads to swinging grooves with a lot of unexpected turns in between.
The individual band members credits include “Juno Awards“, “National Jazz Awards“, Canadian Idol Horns, 2012 Grand Jazz Award at the International Montreal Jazz Festival, and a long list of diverse performance credits with such artists as Seamus Blake, Branford Marsalis, Tony Bennett, Steve Gadd, Russell Malone, Toots Thielemans, Kenny Wheeler, Ray Anderson, Pacquito D’Riviera, Michael and Randy Brecker, Steve Turre, Andrea Boccelli, Joey DeFrancesco, Denzal Sinclair, The Toronto Symphony, Molly Johnson, and many others.
