JUNO winner Jocelyn Gould has been called “a leader in the next generation of great mainstream jazz guitarists” by Howard Paul, CEO of Benedetto Guitars. Her joyful energy has captivated audiences around the world and her passion for music is infectious. She has absorbed the influences of the jazz guitar greats and has woven them into an exciting personal sound. Jocelyn’s unique ability to connect with audiences always leaves them wanting more. Jocelyn’s debut release as a leader, Elegant Traveler, won a 2021 JUNO for Jazz Album of the Year. Her sophomore album, Golden Hour, reached #1 on the Canadian Earshot charts and #9 on American College Radio charts.

Jocelyn has spent the last several years touring extensively. In 2022 she brought her group to 11 Canadian Jazz Festivals. She completed a 6 week, 33 date American theatre tour that showcased the music of Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. She also performed at acclaimed venues including Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Lincoln Center, The Jazz Corner, the Savannah Jazz Festival, and the Kensington Market Jazz Festival.

So far, 2023 has seen Jocelyn featured in a 34 city American and Canadian solo guitar theatre tour. She is scheduled to make her U.K. debut at the London Jazz Festival. She will tour Spain, perform in Saudi Arabia, and complete a Canadian and American tour to celebrate her upcoming album, Sonic BouquetSonic Bouquet, Jocelyn’s third album as a leader, will be released in October 2023. This album features Jocelyn’s guitar playing as well as Randy Napoleon on guitar, Virginia MacDonald on clarinet, Will Bonness on piano, Quincy Davis on drums and Rodney Whitaker on bass.

Jocelyn Gould has performed internationally in the groups of Grammy nominated vocalist Freddy Cole, trumpeter Etienne Charles and DownBeat Critics Poll winner trombonist Michael Dease. She can be heard on albums led by Michael Dease, Caity Gyorgy, The Ostara Project, Jon Gordon, Diego Rivera, Randy Napoleon, and Will Bonness. She is the 1st place winner of the 2018 Wilson Centre International Jazz Guitar Competition. Jocelyn is a full time professor and Head of Guitar at Humber College in Toronto. She is endorsed by Benedetto Guitars.
