“Who says Romance is passé? These fresh arrangements of timeless standards sung in Randy’s warm, lyrical style … will light the fire of romance again and again, especially for jazz lovers. A Return To Romance is our kind of music… five out of five stars.” Rich Germaine, Jazz Radio Network( www.jazzradionetwork.com)
“Effortless…and fantastic. That’s how it sounds when Randy Lyght sings.” CBC Radio
For all of you who went to high school in Northern Ontario and Thunder Bay, you remember Randy from his R and B days with “Black Lyghtning”.
Black Lyghtning played hundreds of high school and big venue dances in the 70’s and 80’s alongside Paul Shaffer and Rick Lazar of The Fugitives. Randy went on to tour with the “The World Renowned Platters” for several years as well as having a solo career in Vancouver, BC.
Now based in Kitchener, Ontario, after taking a leave to raise a family, Randy returned to continue to pursue his passion for music. Having recorded and released two albums throughout 2011 and 2012 “Just In Time” (Jazz/Pop) and “Happy Holiday” (Christmas), under the musical direction of award winning producer J. Richard Hutt), he is currently receiving radio airplay on numerous stations in Canada. Randy focuses on the songbooks of Cole, Sinatra, Bennett and more.
Randy, accompanied by his talented jazz sextet will be singing the sounds of Christmas along with his usual jazz standards and a sneak peek at some of the original songs that he has been working on for his upcoming CD. With all this you have a fantastic recipe for a memorable evening. One that you do not want to miss.
