Tina Hartt is a singer, composer and musician native to Montreal who has relocated to Calgary. Her 2023 album “Absence of You” was nominated by YYC Music Awards for “Jazz Recording of the Year” and her original song “Trust Your Heart” was a semi-finalist in the ISC (International Song Competition) in 2022. Tina is most recognized for her interpretations of jazz standards and French chansons.
Tina has enjoyed a diverse singing career spanning all over Canada: rock bands and church choirs in Montreal, Big Bands and jazz ensembles in Toronto, and acting/singing/dancing in Nova Scotia and PEI.
In 2016 she decided to focus on jazz. Looking to reconnect with her French roots, Tina began specializing in bilingual jazz standards and adapting French chansons, like those composed by J.Brel, C.Aznavour and E.Piaf, with jazz harmonies and Latin rhythms. These elements have become the foundation for her original material, and give a freshness to her interpretations of jazz standards.
